<p><strong>Key Responsibilities and Requirements:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Practical experience in a laboratory environment and a Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (or higher).</li>
<li>Understands and applies WHS legislation, school safety procedures, and relevant Codes of Practice.</li>
<li>Familiar with ethical handling of animals and relevant licensing requirements.</li>
<li>Committed to safe chemical storage, handling practices, and supporting a culture of safety within the school.</li>
<li>Knowledgeable in risk assessment, hazard management, and chemical, biological, and physics safety.</li>
<li>Flexible and eager to learn all aspects of the Science Department and school systems.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Selection Criteria:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Practical/hands-on experience within a laboratory environment.</li>
<li>A service-oriented approach to all areas of responsibilities.</li>
<li>Flexibility to learn all areas of the Science Departments.</li>
<li>Be willing to learn school systems.</li>
<li>Ability to work as part of a team and independently.</li>
<li>Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or higher</li>
<li>Possesses an understanding and knowledge of:<br>
o WHS Act, Regulations and relevant Codes of Practice in relation to School Laboratory <br>
o The school’s safety policies and procedures and may assist with reviews<br>
o Risk Assessment and Hazard Management Requirements for the Science Area<br>
o Chemical Safety in Science<br>
o Biological Safety in Science<br>
o Physics Safety in Science<br>
o Ethical use and care of animals, as well as other relevant licensing requirements<br>
o Safe Chemical Storage and Handling </li>
</ul>

<li>Adherence to all policies and procedures outlined by SCBC.</li>

<li>National Police Clearance</li>
<li>Working with Children Check</li>
<li>First Aid Certificate</li>
