We are seeking a compassionate, patient and enthusiastic, career Learning Support Officer to work alongside teachers and support staff in delivering high-quality learning experiences for students with diverse learning needs.

This is a Level 2 Category B position under the Victorian Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022. Starting salary is ESB 2-1 (Or matched salary if currently employed as an LSO in the Catholic System)&nbsp;</p> <p>The starting date will be 21/07/2025. This role is for 30 hours per week 0.79 FTE working Monday to Friday 8:45am to 3:15pm.</p> <p>The Learning Support Officer will work closely with classroom teachers, the Learning Diversity Leader and year level Learning Leader to provide targeted assistance to students, enabling them to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.</p> <p>The successful applicant will be subject to a Working with Children Check and a National Police Record Check.</p> <p>The successful applicant will;</p> <ul> <li>foster an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment aligned with Catholic ethos and the mission of Catholic education.</li> <li>support students with additional needs in both classroom and small group settings, under the guidance of the classroom teacher.</li> <li>collaborate with teachers, families, and specialists to contribute to Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs).</li> <li>Provide physical and emotional care, including administering medication and supporting personal care needs when required.</li> <li>assist in the implementation of personalised learning adjustments and strategies as directed by teaching staff.</li> <li>assist with general classroom activities and student engagement as required</li> <li>assist students in building social awareness, classroom interaction, and appropriate behaviour</li> <li>collect and provide data for the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)</li> <li>have strong interpersonal and communication skills.</li> <li>have the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.</li> <li>Uphold the school’s commitment to child safety, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all students.<br> &nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>Your application must include:&nbsp;</p> <p>1) A cover letter outlining the extent to which you will be able to fulfil the role.</p> <p>2) Current copy of your Curriculum Vitae including your current employer and at least one other professional to be listed as your referees.&nbsp;</p> <p>3) The completed Application for Employment form to Mrs Annice Lappin via&nbsp;<a href="mailto:<a href='mailto:principal@smgeelong.catholic.edu.au?subject=Learning%20Support%20Officer%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29'>principal@smgeelong.catholic.edu.au</a>?subject=Learning%20Support%20Officer%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29" rel="nofollow"></a><a href="mailto:principal@smgeelong.catholic.edu.au?subject=Learning%20Support%20Officer%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29">principal@smgeelong.catholic.edu.au</a><br> &nbsp;</p> <p>Applications close 25th June 2025 at 4pm</p>
