School Nurse
Contract Type: Contract Position Part Time (0.50 FTE)

<p>This is a 5 day a week position with hours 10am-2:30pm daily. </p>
<p>Applicants must be able to demonstrate:</p>
<ul>
<li>commitment to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in their care </li>
<li>enthusiasm and a willingness to work collaboratively in a team-based environment to meet the needs of our students and families</li>
<li>Implementing MACS & School First Aid policy, guidelines and procedures;</li>
<li>Recording all first aid visits, keeping all students’ electronic records/documentation up to date and maintaining an accident and injury register of students and staff treated. </li>
<li>Providing assistance to students as per medical management plans for ongoing health conditions including, but not limited to Asthma, Anaphylaxis, Epilepsy, Diabetes and Spinal Muscular Atrophy;</li>
<li>Developing student health support plans in consultation with the Principal, Principal’s delegate and student’s parent; </li>
<li>Ensuring appropriate procedures and administration for any medication provided to school</li>
<li> Ensuring all first aid kits are regularly checked and fully stocked and all medical equipment is well maintained</li>
<li>Maintaining the first aid room in an organised and OHS compliant manner</li>
<li>Arranging the appropriate professional learning for staff in First Aid, CPR, Asthma, anaphylaxis or other relevant training</li>
<li>Conducting twice yearly staff briefings on anaphylaxis, including auto-injector verification of staff; </li>
<li>Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation; </li>
<li>Any other duties as directed by the Principal</li>

<p><u>Key Selection Criteria</u></p>
<ol>
<li>Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check. </li>
<li>Current Victorian Nurses Board Registration - Registered Nurse. </li>
<li>Current First Aid and CPR Qualification. </li>
<li>Current certification in relation to Asthma, Anaphylaxis and allergy care, Anaphylaxis Verification, Epilepsy and other medical conditions as required</li>
<li>Evidence of unwavering commitment to fostering a workplace that prioritises the safety and wellbeing of all, with a demonstrated understanding and enactment of the legislative and systematic compliance requirements applicable to all Catholic schools.</li>

<p><u>Application Process</u></p>
