<p><strong>Temporary 3-point leadership position commencing Monday 13 October 2025 and concluding Thursday 2 April 2026 + full time permanent teaching position.</strong></p>
<p>At St Patrick's College, we believe great leadership is key when it comes to improving education, enriching learning experiences and maximising student outcomes. Commencing in July 2025, this is a tremendous opportunity to join our middle leadership team as the <strong>Acting</strong> <strong>Head of Religious Education (Stage 4 to Stage 6) </strong>and become an integral member of our vibrant faith and learning community. Reporting directly to the Director of Curriculum, you will be a highly experienced and accomplished educator and able to provide proactive, high-quality leadership and management. </p>
<p>You will work closely with , support and collaborate with the Director of Identity and Identity Team who provide spiritual, religious and theological leadership for the College community. However, your primary focus will be providing leadership to the pedagogy of teaching, learning and assessment; promoting and supporting Religious Education and Formation; and integrating Gospel Values and principles across the curriculum.</p>
<p>This is a dynamic role requiring exceptional communication, interpersonal and organisational skills together with an ability to prioritise and work autonomously. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will inspire, motivate and lead the pursuit of excellence in the pedagogies of teaching, contemporary teaching methodologies, differentiation of the curriculum, learning and assessment, classroom management, and professional development strategies to build the capability and capacity of the team.</p>
<p>This role would suit an accomplished educator looking to take the next step in leadership of curriculum delivery, while supported by a positive, experienced and collaborative team.</p>
<p>To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate you satisfy the following selection criteria:</p>
<p><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A working understanding of, and commitment to the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition.</li>
<li>Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice.</li>
<li>Qualified to teach Religious Education (Stage 4 and Stage 5) and Studies of Religion (Stage 6) with NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW together with at least five (5) years teaching experience and demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner.</li>
<li>The ability to co-ordinate high impact teaching and learning (curriculum, pedagogy, assessment) and drive student learning through a deep understanding of the Religious Education curriculum whilst ensuring reporting, monitoring and compliance requirements are met.</li>
<li>Previous experience in or capacity to lead improvement in teaching practice (professional learning, evidence informed and collaborative practice).</li>
<li>Previous experience in, or capacity to lead the process of planning, developing and implementing the syllabus.</li>
<li>Expert knowledge of assessment and feedback with the ability to design and implement learning that caters for a diverse range of students.</li>
<li>Ability to build relational trust with a team using a disposition of self-reflection, open-mindedness, interpersonal courage, empathy, perseverance and resilience.</li>
<li>Exceptional communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.</li>
</ul>
