We are seeking to appoint a full-time, fixed term Junior School Teacher for up to 12 months. This will be to cover for an employee on parental leave, with the role to commence in Term 3, 2025.

This will be to cover for an employee on parental leave, with the role to commence in Term 3, 2025.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What You Need to Do to Succeed</strong></p> <ul> <li>Teach&nbsp;within&nbsp;the Ascham principles of Responsibility,&nbsp;Independence,&nbsp;Collaboration&nbsp;and Reflection</li> <li>Actively&nbsp;participate&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;planning of&nbsp;curriculum,&nbsp;writing of&nbsp;programs&nbsp;and&nbsp;scope&nbsp;and&nbsp;sequences</li> <li>Develop&nbsp;an innovative&nbsp;curriculum&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;school Learning&nbsp;Management&nbsp;System (CANVAS)</li> <li>Write, implement and&nbsp;evaluate teaching programs</li> <li>Develop effective&nbsp;assessment&nbsp;and&nbsp;reporting procedures, including formative and summative assessment to determine student progress</li> <li>Create&nbsp;a&nbsp;stimulating&nbsp;classroom&nbsp;environment&nbsp;where&nbsp;students can&nbsp;flourish</li> <li>Submit&nbsp;marking, reports&nbsp;and results in a timely manner and to a professional&nbsp;standard&nbsp;demonstrating an&nbsp;understanding&nbsp;of each student</li> <li>Plan and&nbsp;oversee&nbsp;individual&nbsp;student and&nbsp;group&nbsp;academic needs&nbsp;and&nbsp;progress, including enrichment (extension) and enhancement (support).</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Bring</strong></p> <ul> <li>Appropriate&nbsp;tertiary&nbsp;and&nbsp;teaching&nbsp;qualifications, as well as accreditation&nbsp;with&nbsp;NESA</li> <li>A high&nbsp;standard&nbsp;of&nbsp;competency&nbsp;and&nbsp;proficiency&nbsp;as&nbsp;a&nbsp;classroom teacher</li> <li>Experience&nbsp;in&nbsp;a K-6&nbsp;teaching&nbsp;role, with sound&nbsp;knowledge&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;K-6&nbsp;NSW&nbsp;syllabi</li> <li>Demonstrated&nbsp;ability to&nbsp;cater&nbsp;for&nbsp;individual&nbsp;needs&nbsp;and&nbsp;differentiate&nbsp;the&nbsp;curriculum</li> <li>Ability to facilitate&nbsp;outstanding&nbsp;student results and ensure these are monitored and improved</li> <li>Proven experience in planning and&nbsp;implementing authentic&nbsp;assessment&nbsp;that&nbsp;informs&nbsp;teaching and&nbsp;learning</li> <li>A&nbsp;strong&nbsp;commitment&nbsp;to&nbsp;student&nbsp;well being&nbsp;and meeting students’&nbsp;social&nbsp;and&nbsp;emotional&nbsp;needs</li> <li>Enthusiasm&nbsp;and&nbsp;willingness&nbsp;to&nbsp;participate&nbsp;in&nbsp;co-curricular&nbsp;activities&nbsp;and&nbsp;contribute&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;broader life&nbsp;of the School community</li> <li>Demonstrated excellence&nbsp;in&nbsp;communication&nbsp;and&nbsp;writing&nbsp;skills</li> <li>Well-developed time&nbsp;management&nbsp;and&nbsp;organisational&nbsp;skills</li> <li>Willingness&nbsp;to&nbsp;continue to&nbsp;develop&nbsp;as&nbsp;a&nbsp;teacher</li> <li>Current&nbsp;first&nbsp;aid, CPR and Working&nbsp;with&nbsp;Children (WWC) certificates (or willingness to obtain).</li> </ul> <p>The successful applicant will enjoy a stimulating work environment in a team of talented professionals, and attractive remuneration and benefits.</p> <p><strong>Interested?</strong></p> <p>Further information, including a position description for this role is available at <a href="https://www.ascham.nsw.edu.au" rel="nofollow">www.ascham.nsw.edu.au</a>&nbsp;</p> <p>If this sounds like you, please apply via SEEK no later than 11.59pm Wednesday 18 June 2025.
