St Aloysius' College is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychologist to provide targeted mental health support to our students and families.
<p><i>Established in 1879, St Aloysius' College is a Catholic, Jesuit day school for boys from Year 3 to Year 12. Situated in the shadow of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, it has an enrolment of over 1300 students.</i></p>

<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p><strong>Senior School Psychologist </strong></p>
<p>St Aloysius’ College is seeking an experienced and dedicated Psychologist that is passionate about supporting young people and has a strong understanding of evidence-based practices in student wellbeing and mental health.</p>
<p>Reporting to the Head of Counselling, the Psychologist is a key member of the <i>Cura Personalis</i> Team and works collaboratively with staff across the Senior School (Years 7-12) to identify and support students who may benefit from targeted psychological intervention and support. The primary responsibility of this role is to positively influence the management, care, academic progress, and overall wellbeing of students.</p>
<p>The Psychologist will provide appropriate counselling services to students and their families, with a focus on early intervention, proactive wellbeing initiatives, and the development of personalised support strategies. </p>
<p>This is a full-time, ongoing position and presents an excellent opportunity for a qualified and compassionate psychologist to make a meaningful contribution across the wider College community.</p>

<p><strong>About You</strong></p>
<p>To be considered for this position, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate:</p>
<ul>
<li>Commitment to the mission of Catholic education of boys in the Jesuit tradition;</li>
<li>Registered Psychologist who is eligible for membership of APS or other professional body (AAPI);</li>
<li>Experience in a clinical and/or counselling service using a variety of therapeutic approaches and assessments;</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to provide evidence-based counselling services for students that support and promote their social, emotional and academic wellbeing;</li>
<li>Demonstrate an understanding and willingness to work within the College’s <i>cura personalis</i> framework, as it relates to the confidentiality and the sharing of student related information;</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience and knowledge in therapeutic and counselling skills, case management, family therapy and parenting skills that is applicable to children, young people and their families;</li>
<li>Ability to make referrals to external agencies and liaise as necessary;</li>
<li>Experience working with young people and young adults;</li>
<li>Experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of student wellbeing programs based on research and best practice;</li>
<li>Demonstrate strong administrative, communication and organisational skills;</li>
<li>Strong commitment to safeguarding principles;</li>
<li>Counselling experience in a boys’ school setting would be an advantage;</li>
<li>Possess a valid Working with Children Check.</li>
