<p>Our Lady Help of Christians (OLHC) invites applications for a <strong>Learning Support Officer (LSO)</strong> to join our committed Learning Diversity Team. This is a <strong>fixed-term position</strong>, with potential for extension, and days and hours of work to be discussed with the successful candidate.</p>
<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>At OLHC, LSOs collaborate with teachers, the Learning Diversity Leader, and other staff to provide essential support for students with diverse learning and behavioural needs. This role will primarily involve working <strong>one-on-one with a student</strong>, providing individualised support to assist with learning, behavioural, and personal care needs, ensuring the student’s inclusion and success in all aspects of school life.</p>
<p>Key aspects of the role include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Providing dedicated <strong>one-on-one support</strong> for a student with diverse needs, both in the classroom and in small group settings.</li>
<li>Assisting with personal care needs when required, ensuring dignity and comfort for the student.</li>
<li>Preparing resources to support learning and engagement.</li>
<li>Observing and recording the student’s progress toward learning goals.</li>
<li>Participating in Program Support Group (PSG) meetings and supporting related administrative tasks.</li>
<li>Assisting with duty responsibilities such as First Aid, office relief, and playground supervision.</li>
</ul>
<p>This role, funded through NCCD, is vital in fostering inclusion and success for students across all aspects of school life.</p>

<ul>
<li>A commitment to Catholic education, school values, and maintaining a child-safe environment.</li>
<li>Experience working with students with diverse needs, including ASD (highly valued).</li>
<li>Strong communication, adaptability, and a team-focused approach.</li>
<li>A high level of confidentiality and professionalism in supporting students and families.</li>
<li>A current <strong>Working With Children Check</strong> (mandatory).</li>
</ul>
