Ascham is seeking to appoint an experienced Head of Drama. This is a permanent full-time role commencing at the start of Term 4, 2025.

Ascham is an inclusive, day and boarding school that provides a strong academic program within a warm, welcoming environment.</p> <p>&nbsp;At Ascham, Heads of Department are responsible for the supervision and mentoring of staff in their department, developing and delivering academic programs through the Dalton Plan, administration of their department including annual management plans and budgets, and contributing to the life of the School.</p> <p>Ascham is seeking to appoint an experienced Head of Drama. This is a permanent full-time role commencing at the start of Term 4, 2025.</p> <p>To be successful you will possess:</p> <ul> <li>A degree with majors in Dramatic Arts and Education (or similar) and NESA accreditation</li> <li>Proven leadership and administration skills</li> <li>A strong record of teaching success in Drama</li> <li>Experience in producing and overseeing all elements of school productions (junior and senior)</li> <li>Ability to manage departmental budgets</li> <li>Ability to communicate well at all levels</li> <li>Enthusiasm and ability to integrate technology and innovation in teaching practices</li> <li>Demonstrated capacity to work under pressure</li> <li>Willingness to teach in accordance with the Dalton Plan</li> <li>Ability to differentiate for a diverse group of non-selective students and teach to the strengths of girls</li> <li>Ability to teach HSC levels</li> <li>Experience with HSC marking (highly desirable)</li> <li>Demonstrated excellence in communication and writing skills</li> <li>Proven ICT skills within an environment where students bring a personal device to school</li> <li>Well-developed time management and organisational skills</li> <li>Willingness to continue to develop as a teacher</li> <li>A current First Aid and CPR Certificate, or willingness to obtain</li> <li>A valid employee Working with Children Check (WWCC), or willingness to obtain.</li> </ul> <p>The successful applicant will enjoy small class sizes, a stimulating work environment in a team of talented professionals, and attractive remuneration and benefits.</p> <p>Please <strong>apply via SEEK </strong>with your cover letter and resume by <strong>11.59pm on Sunday 15 June, 2025.</strong></p> <p>In your application, please include your NESA, WWCC, First Aid and CPR details, as well as the names and contact details of two referees.</p> <p>Further information, including a position description is available at<strong> </strong><a href="https://ascham.school/careers" rel="nofollow">https://ascham.school/careers</a>&nbsp;</p> <p>Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, and we will not proceed with applications that do not have this information.</p> <p><i>Ascham School seeks to provide a child-safe environment.
