Unity College is seeking to employ a passionate and engaging, student focused, EAL Tutor or Teacher to join us for two weeks at the beginning of Term 3 for an exciting opportunity working with and supporting students from our Japanese Sister School in learning English and about Australian life and culture.

<p><strong>About the College</strong></p> <p>Unity College is an R-12 co-educational Lutheran school situated in beautiful country surroundings on the outskirts of the Rural City of Murray Bridge. It is an easy drive of only 45 minutes via the South-Eastern freeway to the heart of Adelaide. The college has a strong 'Students First' focus with a current total enrolment of approximately 790 students. Unity College offer the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and is also an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP).</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>Unity College is seeking a dynamic and adaptable candidate for a special two-week program with teaching English to students from our Japanese Sister School. The students will be arriving in mid-July, and the program will span approximately two weeks.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching English and creating an engaging learning environment. This is an opportunity to work with a diverse group of students who are eager to improve their language skills and immerse themselves in a new cultural experience. The role will include teaching English in a variety of contexts, from conversational practice to more structured lessons, tailored to the needs of the students.</p> <p>Applicants should have strong communication skills, a flexible teaching approach, and experience working with international students or in an intercultural context. The position will involve both in-class instruction and potentially some extracurricular activities, depending on the program’s schedule.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p>Plan and deliver English lessons for a group of Japanese students, ensuring lessons are engaging and meet the students' learning needs.</p> <p>Provide support in conversational practice, grammar, and vocabulary development.</p> <p>Create a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere conducive to language learning.</p> <p>Foster cross-cultural understanding and facilitate cultural exchange through various activities.</p> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <p>Experience in teaching English as a second language (ESL) or English to international students is desirable.</p> <p>Strong interpersonal and communication skills.</p> <p>An ability to engage with students of diverse backgrounds and language proficiency levels.</p> <p>A flexible and open-minded approach to teaching.</p> <p>This is a short-term, temporary position ideal for educators looking to contribute to a rewarding cross-cultural experience.
