Frensham is seeking to appoint a full time Coordinator of Agriculture, to join us from Term 3, 2025. Led by our Head of Science, the faculty works collaboratively to deliver quality teaching and learning experiences that develop students as problem solvers and flexible thinkers.

They are taught to value kindness, resilience, empathy and compassion, and to carry these attributes with them for life, alongside the School’s core values.</p> <p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p> <p>Led by our Head of Science, the faculty works collaboratively to deliver quality teaching and learning experiences that develop students as problem solvers and flexible thinkers.&nbsp;</p> <p>AGRICULTURE has been established in the small Old School House on the Stanley Street property adjacent to Turner Cottage. There is a classroom and inside working space as well as an outside area devoted to vegetable plots, a poultry run, hothouse and hydroponics unit.</p> <p>HOLT FARM comprises 10 hectares which are used as a teaching facility for the Agriculture Department and currently runs beef cattle, prime lambs and alpacas.</p> <p>Teachers at Frensham Schools are fully engaged in individual support of students, both in and out of the classroom. They are responsible for highly developed, differentiated programmes, assessment and teaching and learning strategies.&nbsp;</p> <p>This position would suit an experienced teacher or new graduate who has delivered or has the ability to deliver Agricultural Science and practical farm-based activities wanting to share their talents in a school where students are highly motivated and love being at School.</p> <p>The successful applicant will have the capacity to facilitate innovative and adaptive approaches that allow students to experience the adventure of experiment and the excitement of breaking new ground.</p> <p>They will be a passionate, inspirational and energetic classroom teacher with the proven ability to improve student learning outcomes.&nbsp;</p> <p>All teaching staff are committed to a professional learning program focused on improvement in professional practice as part of a school-wide pursuit of excellence in teaching.</p> <p><strong>Role Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Possess appropriate teaching and tertiary qualifications relevant to the position.&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience teaching or ability to teach Agricultural Science to HSC level.</li> <li>Coordinate the Schools animal welfare and farm management responsibilities including organising veterinary&nbsp;care, looking after stock day to day and ordering feed and other items for the Farm.</li> <li>Development and delivery of agronomy programs and activities including&nbsp;Show cattle and sheep teams.</li> <li>Dynamic and effective classroom practitioner.</li> <li>Ability to differentiate instruction and cater for a range of learning abilities and needs.</li> <li>Thorough understanding of the learning process, including the role of assessment and feedback.</li> <li>A commitment to pastoral care and meeting the social and emotional wellbeing needs of students.&nbsp;</li> <li>An understanding of and commitment to the educational needs of young women.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>A commitment to collaborative teaching practices and an ability to contribute to a team and faculty of professional educators.&nbsp;</li> <li>An ability to use ICT to facilitate and enrich student learning and engagement beyond the classroom.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Personal Capabilities and Characteristics&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Commitment to the values and ethos of Frensham Schools.&nbsp;</li> <li>Willingness to contribute to the full life of the School, through involvement in Boarding and co-curricular activities.</li> <li>Commitment to ongoing professional development.</li> <li>Open-minded, collaborative, enthusiastic and optimistic.</li> <li>Personal integrity, honesty and fairness.</li> <li>Creative and well-organised.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Please note:</strong> The provision of accommodation on campus may be available to a suitable candidate.</p> <p><strong>Commencement:&nbsp;</strong>Term 3, 2025 (or by negotiation)</p> <p><i>All staff at Frensham Schools take an active role in ensuring our Child Protection programs, policies and processes are at the forefront of all that we do.
