We are seeking a dedicated and forward-thinking educator specialising in Diverse Learning for a permanent, full-time position. This role is available for an immediate start.

The successful applicant will join an energetic Diverse Learning Team focused on providing quality education and a holistic curriculum. The Teacher of Diverse Learning is dedicated to working collaboratively within the school community to support the learning of students with diverse learning needs.

The Role

  • Provide teaching and learning experiences to meet student needs based on a sound understanding and knowledge of current pedagogical practice in special education.
  • Provide in-class support for individual student across a range of subject areas, targeting basic skills. 
  • Implement targeted, intensive Reading and Comprehension programs to support student needs using a range of diagnostic tools and testing.
  • All staff members at Loreto Normanhurst must participate in the Loreto Normanhurst Student Growth Model, which may mean being part of an Integrated Learning Team.
  • A commitment to pastoral care and meeting the social and emotional wellbeing of young women.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Relevant education qualifications, NESA accreditation and an understanding of the curriculum.
  • Ability to work well independently, be self-motivated and take initiative.
  • Commitment to professional learning and continuous improvement.
  • You will be highly organised and have the ability to engage and communicate with all members of staff, students and parents.
  • Ability to use ICT to facilitate and enrich student learning and engagement.
