<p><br>
We are seeking a suitably experienced Student Counsellor to join our College wellbeing team on a part-time fixed-term basis. <br><br>
The Student Counsellor plays a vital role within our student support team, working alongside teachers and wellbeing staff to promote the holistic development of our students.<br><br>
This role is deeply aligned with our commitment to Child Safety, ensuring that all actions and practices support the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all young people in our care.<br><br>
This is a 0.80 FTE position, with working days on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Hours are negotiable between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.<br>

<p><strong>Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</strong></p>
<p><i><u>Support Students by:</u></i><br>
</p>
<ul>
<li>Providing individual and group counselling to enhance emotional and social development</li>
<li>Collaborating with parents, staff, and external agencies to support student needs</li>
<li>Developing and implementing case management plans, particularly for at-risk students</li>
<li>Promoting life skills, personal growth, and connectedness through pastoral care</li>
<li>Contributing to Personal Development Programs, wellbeing initiatives, and Seminar Days</li>
<li>Monitoring and documenting student progress and reporting emerging welfare concerns</li>
</ul>
<p><br><i><u>Support Staff by:</u></i><br>
</p>
<ul>
<li>Working as part of a collaborative student support team</li>
<li>Assisting staff to identify and respond to student wellbeing concerns</li>
<li>Providing guidance on personal development issues in the curriculum</li>
<li>Supporting transition programs (Years 6–7 and 9–10)</li>
<li>Coordinating and participating in case meetings for at-risk students</li>
<li>Offering professional insight and support for managing student needs in the classroom</li>
</ul>
<p>This role is integral to fostering a safe, inclusive, and faith-based environment where students are empowered to thrive.<br><br><strong>The successful candidate will have the following experience, skills and attributes:</strong><br>
</p>
<ul>
<li>Relevant qualifications in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline, with practical counselling experience</li>
<li>A strong understanding of child safety, risk assessment, and mental health support, including experience in managing sensitive and confidential issues</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds</li>
<li>Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment</li>
<li>High-level organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records of service</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including OneNote, Teams, and Excel</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to maintaining professional confidentiality</li>
<li>A commitment to Catholic education, College policies, and upholding Occupational Health and Safety standards</li>
