<p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Canteen Assistant<br> ONGOING – 0.29FTE<br> Commencing: 30 May 2025</p> <p>The Canteen Assistant plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the school canteen. This includes preparing and serving healthy food and drinks, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment, and supporting the School’s health and wellbeing initiatives.</p> <p>This role also contributes to broader school life by promoting positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and volunteers, while maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment aligned with Catholic Education Tasmania’s values.</p> <p>The successful candidate must have a genuine commitment to the philosophy and ethos of Catholic Education, and a willingness to participate in all aspects of life at Holy Rosary Catholic School.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist with food preparation and service during recess and lunch</li> <li>Follow safe food handling practices and ensure canteen cleanliness</li> <li>Maintain accurate stock records and participate in stocktake activities</li> <li>Handle cash and EFTPOS transactions accurately</li> <li>Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and families</li> <li>Assist with general cleaning duties in the canteen and school areas</li> <li>Contribute to a safe, healthy, and inclusive school environment</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong></p> <ul> <li>A team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills</li> <li>Reliable, adaptable, and able to work independently</li> <li>Experience in a retail or food service environment (preferred)</li> <li>Familiarity with cleaning standards in a commercial or school setting</li> <li>Commitment to Catholic values and child-safe principles</li> <li>Ability to manage time effectively and meet routine deadlines</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications and Compliance</strong></p> <ul> <li>A current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (or willingness to obtain)</li> <li>Relevant training in safe food handling (desirable)</li> <li>Willingness to undertake Catholic Education Accreditation requirements</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications and Compliance</strong></p> <ul> <li>A current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (or willingness to obtain)</li> <li>Relevant training in safe food handling (desirable)</li> <li>Willingness to undertake Catholic Education Accreditation requirements</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p> <p>At Holy Rosary Catholic School, you’ll be part of a welcoming community that values collaboration, integrity, and the development of the whole child.
