We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Officer to join our primary school team at Clairvaux. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in children’s lives by providing one-to-one support, working with small groups and supporting whole classrooms to help our students thrive both academically and socially.

<p>Contract Type: Full-Time Fixed Term (Part-Time Considered)<br> Hours: 9:00am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday<br> Start Date: Ideally Monday 19th May</p> <p><strong><u>Key Responsibilities</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide one-to-one support for pupils with additional learning needs.</li> <li>Work with small groups of students to reinforce learning objectives under the direction of the class teacher.</li> <li>Monitor and record pupil progress, document adjustments and provide feedback to teachers and support staff.</li> <li>Promote inclusion and ensure all students feel supported, safe, and engaged.</li> <li>Contribute to creating a positive and nurturing learning environment.</li> <li>Support with classroom management and behaviour guidance when required.</li> <li>Use initiative within the class environment to ensure optimal student support.</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Skills and Attributes</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Highly motivated, committed, positive, friendly, and enthusiastic.</li> <li>Experience working with students with a diverse range of needs (desirable).</li> <li>Effective communication and organisational skills.</li> <li>Proficiency in ICT skills would be an advantage.</li> <li>Flexible, proactive, and resourceful approach to daily tasks.</li> <li>Ability to build positive relationships with children and foster learning environments where all are valued and challenged.</li> <li>Self-motivated with the ability to work independently if necessary.</li> <li>Understanding of child safety, including appropriate obligations and behaviours when working with students.</li> <li>Commitment to ongoing professional learning and continuous improvement.</li> <li>Alignment with the values and ethos of the Catholic education system.</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>About You</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Previous experience working with children in a school or similar educational setting is preferred.</li> <li>A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to learning support.</li> <li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.</li> <li>A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.</li> <li>Relevant qualifications in education or learning support are desirable but not essential.</li> </ul>
