<p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p>
<p>Join our dynamic Grounds & Utility team in a full-time capacity, providing essential grounds and maintenance support. We are currently seeking energetic, practical, and motivated individuals, who like working outdoors for two positions:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Grounds & Utility Level 3</strong> - Responsible in overseeing the general grounds and building maintenance of the Croagh Patrick Campus. </li>
<li><strong>Grounds & Utility Level 1</strong> - Perfect for those starting their career or looking to enter the facilities or groundskeeping field. </li>
</ul>
<p>These roles are vital to the day-to-day operation and presentation of the school. General responsibilities include preparing and maintaining the soccer and sports ovals, supporting general building and grounds maintenance, setting up for school functions and events, and ensuring the school grounds and surrounding areas are kept clean, safe, and tidy. The role also involves maintaining the safety, cleanliness and appearance of all external areas, including paths and hard surfaces, contributing to scheduled maintenance programs throughout the year, and ensuring that all tools, equipment, and grounds machinery are properly maintained and compliant.</p>
<p>Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.</p>
<p><strong>About You</strong></p>
<p>As a Grounds & Utility Officer you will have:</p>
<ul>
<li>A strong work ethic, eye for detail and a sense of pride in efficiently completing work to a high standard whilst maintaining the highest level of safety</li>
<li>The ability to work collegially in a team environment, as well as the ability to work independently and to follow instructions and take direction</li>
<li>Ability to effectively interact and maintain professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader College community.</li>
<li>Reliable, punctual, and proactive in identifying and completing tasks</li>
<li>Willingness to work outdoors and take on physically active roles</li>
<li>Motivation, enthusiasm and a great attitude</li>
<li>Perform effectively in environments with competing demands, with the ability to coordinate routine activities, set priorities and deliver tasks on time.</li>
<li>An understanding of and ability to contribute to the mission of St Patrick’s College as a Catholic school</li>
<li><i><strong>Level 3 -</strong></i> previous experience in groundskeeping, general building maintenance or turf management</li>
<li><i><strong>Level 1</strong></i> - no experience required, but have an enthusiasm for learning and developing new skills.</li>
</ul>
