<p><strong>Location:</strong> Catholic Education Office, Wollongong</p><p>The Director of Schools invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for the graduate entry-level, permanent full-time position of WHS &amp; Return to Work Officer.</p><p><strong>WHY WORK FOR CATHOLIC EDUCATION IN THE DIOCESE OF WOLLONGONG</strong></p><p>We provide our team with:</p><ul><li>Flexible &amp; hybrid working opportunities (under the Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong Remote Working Policy)</li><li>Ex-gratia leave during the Christmas Period</li><li>Competitive salary plus superannuation</li><li>Salary packaging</li><li>Excellent professional development programs, tailored to your needs</li><li>An environment that encourages innovation and collaboration through education</li><li>A platform to contribute to the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community</li></ul><p><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE</strong></p><p>The Workplace Safety and Wellbeing team is a dynamic and energetic team that contributes to the broader People and Culture service area through the design and delivery of a comprehensive workplace safety and wellbeing framework.&nbsp;</p><p>This position works under the direction of the Team Leader - Workplace Safety and Wellbeing and requires an understanding and commitment to support the mission of Catholic Education within the evangelising mission of the Church.</p><p>KEY FUNCTIONS</p><ul><li>Assist with the facilitation of workers’ compensation and injury management practices in line with CEDoW program and procedures formed from legislative requirements.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Actively input, store, and manage data within the newly implemented SOLV case management system to effectively manage workers’ compensation and non-compensable injuries across our schools and office sites.</li><li>Assist with the development and implementation of WHS resources and training so that schools remain compliant with WHS Laws and Regulations.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements to ensure compliance with CEDoW Policy and Procedures</li><li>Contribute to the development and implementation of Workplace Safety and Wellbeing initiatives and projects.</li></ul><p><strong>SELECTION CRITERIA</strong></p><ul><li>Actively support the development of relevant policies and procedures to facilitate the ongoing rollout of a comprehensive workplace safety and well-being framework for CEDoW.</li><li>Knowledge of workers’ compensation and work health and safety&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to build relationships with school staff, generating&nbsp;respectful working associations and delivering outstanding support in a shared work environment.</li><li>Demonstrated capacity to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.</li><li>Intermediate skills in computer-based office systems</li><li>An ability to deliver staff training to staff in both group and individual settings, either onsite at schools, via Zoom, or in training sessions at the Catholic Education Office&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>An ability to work autonomously and also as a team member supporting colleagues within the broader WSaW team.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and schedule work accordingly</li><li>Attention to detail in all work processes, including administrative work</li></ul><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Degree level qualification or working towards completion in Human Resources, Psychology, Allied Health /Rehabilitation, or other relevant discipline</li><li>Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the area of human resources within a medium to large organisation is advantageous but not essential</li><li>&nbsp;A strong desire to work in the area of Work Health and Safety and Injury Management/Workers' Compensation.</li><li>Capacity to use ICT applications with a high degree of competency.</li><li>An awareness of the NSW Workers' Compensation Scheme and Work Health and Safety Legislation.</li></ul><p><strong>WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE</strong></p><p>This role is classified as child-related work, and therefore, we require a working-with-children clearance to be completed before your commencement with us.</p><p><strong>POSITION APPLICATION</strong></p><p>Complete the online application, provide a copy of your CV, and address the ‘Selection Criteria’ and ‘Qualifications and Experience’.&nbsp; Please keep your response to the equivalent of 2-3 pages in length.</p><p>To confidentially discuss your general interest in this position or your application, please contact Susan Philipson, Team Leader - Workplace Safety and Wellbeing, on 0438 528 360.</p><p>Please select the 'Apply Now' button at the bottom of this advertisement to submit your application.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Applications Close:&nbsp; 9 May 2025 at 11:55 pm</strong></p>
