Skillset Senior College is an independent school for students in Years 10-12, with campuses in Bathurst and Dubbo. We partner with young people who experience barriers to their education and support them to complete their schooling. We are seeking Teachers specialising in Mathematics, Science, Technological and Applied Studies (TAS), English, PDHPE or Visual Design to join our team in Dubbo NSW.

Our mission is to partner with young people who may be experiencing barriers to their education and to support them to complete their secondary schooling.</p><p>By partnering with a range of local community support organisations, Skillset Senior College is able to provide a holistic school experience supported by friendly staff in an inclusive and comfortable setting.</p><p>Our students have the opportunity to undertake NESA (NSW Education Standards Authority) approved courses, leading to a Higher School Certificate (HSC) for Year 12 or Record of School Achievement (ROSA) for Year 10, in an alternative educational setting.</p><p>We are currently seeking Teachers specialising in Mathematics, Science, Technological and Applied Studies (TAS), English, PDHPE or Visual Design to join our team at the Dubbo campus in NSW.</p><p>ABOUT YOU</p><p>As a teacher at Skillset Senior College, your role will involve creating and delivering engaging lessons that inspire students to build the skills and knowledge for success, both academically and beyond. Our teachers play a critical role in providing an enriching and effective educational experience that meets NESA and other funding bodies requirements, while also fostering the personal and academic growth of each student.</p><p>You will be passionate about building strong, supportive relationships with students and creating a positive learning environment. You will possess a compassionate approach to your work to help students stay engaged, feel connected and confident in their learning.</p><p>You will be an excellent cultural fit, embodying and leading by example with the core values of Skillset Senior College: Kindness, Courage, and Consideration.</p><p>ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS</p><p>The following are minimum requirements for the position:</p><ul><li>Experience teaching Year 10 Mathematics, Mathematics Standard 1 or higher (equivalent experience also recognised), OR</li><li>Experience teaching Year 10 Science or higher (equivalent experience also recognised), OR</li><li>Experience teaching Technological and Applied Studies (equivalent experience also recognised), OR</li><li>Experience teaching Year 10 English or higher (equivalent experience also recognised), OR</li><li>Experience teaching PDHPE (equivalent experience also recognised), OR</li><li>Experience teaching Visual Design (equivalent experience also recognised)</li><li>Relevant tertiary qualifications of either Bachelor of Education or Diploma of Education</li><li>Effective classroom management with innovative and engaging teaching</li><li>A team player with excellent interpersonal skills</li><li>Class C Drivers licence</li><li>Paid Working with Children’s Check</li><li>Current Police Check Clearance</li></ul><p>DESIRABLE</p><ul><li>Passion for the philosophy of Alternative Education</li><li>Sound crisis management skills</li><li>Previous experience working within a school environment, particularly with vulnerable students</li></ul><p>BENEFITS</p><ul><li>Join a supportive and collaborative team culture</li><li>Scope to teach creatively</li><li>Work within a team to deliver high quality educational experiences</li><li>At Skillset Senior College, we have the privilege of supporting students who bring diverse and often challenging life experiences.
