We now invite applications for a permanent full-time Prep - Year 2 Specialist Teacher - Literacy and Numeracy Focus who will commence 14 July 2025.

<p>We are seeking a passionate and inspiring teacher who is eager to provide quality education and care for our students. The Specialist Teacher - Literacy and Numeracy Focus will support the learning of students in Prep through to Year 2 through response to data in the areas of Numeracy and Literacy. The Junior School is a member of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, and all teachers will use this framework for learning and teaching in the classroom.</p><p><strong>Other Key Responsibilities include:</strong></p><ul><li>Attend and contribute to planning sessions with Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 teachers to enhance Literacy and Numeracy teaching and learning.</li><li>Collaboratively teach with staff in the areas of Literacy and Numeracy as needed.</li><li>Collect and analyse data to inform recommendations to support learning outcomes for all students.</li><li>Model best practice and evidence-based strategies for Literacy and Numeracy.</li><li>Create a nurturing learning environment which is learner centred, supportive, cooperative and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents and practices.</li><li>Collaboratively develop and implement quality curriculum programs using the IB PYP Framework and the ACARA curriculum; evaluate their effectiveness; assess and report student progress; and report these to students, parents and the community.</li><li>Work closely with our Inclusive Practices Team to inform programs that cater for the diverse range of learners within the classroom in the areas of Literacy and Numeracy.</li><li>Foster and develop appropriate professional relationships with parents, guardians and the wider College community.</li><li>Commit to maintaining currency of professional knowledge and skills, and participate in the school renewal processes.</li></ul><p><strong>To be successful in this role you must:</strong></p><ul><li>Must have a current Queensland College of Teacher registration (or be eligible for registration).</li><li>Experience in early years teaching Prep - Year 2 with IB PYP experience preferable.</li><li>Demonstrated understanding of contemporary Literacy and Numeracy best practice.</li><li>Demonstrated strong computer skills in Microsoft applications including but not limited to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, TEAMS, and OneNote.</li><li>Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact confidently and sensitively with staff, parents and students.</li><li>Current Provide First Aid Certificate.</li><li>Must satisfy all visa requirements for working in Australia.</li></ul><p><strong>Applications close at 3:00pm on Thursday, 24 April 2025</strong></p><p><i>Within two weeks of the closing date, the selection panels&#39; decision will be communicated to successful applicants.
