<p>Located in Colac, Victoria, Trinity College is a Catholic co-educational secondary school for Years 7–12, committed to forming curious, capable and compassionate learners through a values-based education grounded in faith and service. Rooted in the charisms of Edmund Rice and Catherine McAuley, Trinity College Colac delivers a contemporary and inclusive learning environment aligned with Gospel values. As a Diocese of Ballarat Catholic Education Limited (DOBCEL) school, the College prioritises community, contribution, high-impact teaching, personal excellence, and operational clarity within a supportive Catholic educational framework.</p><p>The Deputy Principal reports to the Principal and works in close collaboration with Directors of Learning, Wellbeing and Catholic Identity to lead school-wide teaching and learning, coordinate operations, ensuring student and staff development in a cohesive and aspirational community.</p><p>The Deputy Principal provides confident, visible and accessible leadership in support of a culture of excellence across curriculum design, learning delivery, teacher performance, student expectations and experience, risk and compliance, and school organisation. The role requires a proactive educator who ‘leads from the front’, role modelling best practice, setting instructional direction, embedding expectations, protocols, and processes that are conducive to a thriving learning environment.</p><p>The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to:</p><ul><li>lead whole-school pedagogy and curriculum, build capacity, enable agency, and embed a shared instructional approach that is co-created, evidence-based, inclusive, and responsive to the needs and expectations of the community;</li><li>navigate complex operational and administrative environments, apply systems thinking to take initiative across strategic planning, external partnerships, risk, compliance, staffing, change and project management;</li><li>communicate with clarity and confidence to better influence outcomes, synthesising complex information, resolving conflict, and fostering alignment across diverse teams and community stakeholders;</li><li>mentor and grow all staff, supporting collaborative practice and a culture of continuous professional learning and high expectations; and</li><li>demonstrate an understanding of and appreciation for the values of the Edmund Rice and Catherine McAuley charisms to lead a contemporary Catholic community.</li></ul><p>Commencing Term 3, 2025 (or by negotiation), this is a five-year full-time contract with potential renewal. Applicants must hold or be eligible for VIT registration and possess relevant postgraduate qualifications or a willingness to undertake further study.</p><p>Trinity College Colac staff comply with the school’s child safety policies and related procedures, upholding the principles and values set out in legislative frameworks and regulations.
