<p><strong>James Sheahan Catholic High School, Orange</strong><br><strong>Co-Educational (7-12)</strong><br><strong>Temporary Full-time Position + Coordinator 3 Allowance</strong><br><strong>Commencing: 30 June 2025 - 19 July 2026 (Leave Coverage)</strong></p><p><br><strong>About the Role</strong><br>The Leader of Mission and Formation is a key member of the leadership team of a Catholic school and exercises his or her ministry under the leadership of the Principal within the school leadership team, in collaboration with clergy, teachers, parents, Catholic Education staff and other members of the faith community who contribute to the life of the Catholic school.</p><p><br>The responsibilities of the Leader of Mission and Formation in the Diocese of Bathurst is drawn from three key domains of leadership:</p><ul><li><strong>Religious Leadership</strong> - understanding and communicating the Catholic tradition within various contexts, collaborating with the Principal to enhance spiritual practices, promoting social justice and mission, facilitating a robust sacramental life, developing inclusive parental involvement programs, leading school liturgical activities, spearheading pastoral care policies, and evaluating student well-being and safety measures according to current regulations.</li><li><strong>Educational Leadership</strong> - being a credible classroom role model, aligning the Religious Education program with Gospel values and Diocesan standards, displaying mastery in curriculum design with a focus on Religious Education, overseeing policy implementation, conducting effective professional development, fostering both a learning community and a faith-based environment, and utilizing student assessment data to enhance teaching quality.</li><li><strong>Enabling Leadership</strong> - designing and evaluating strategic frameworks in line with system goals, leading initiatives for impactful professional development, setting high expectations for both students and teachers within the leadership team, managing resources effectively, particularly in the Religious Education budget, fostering crucial relationships with parish, parents, and educational partners, and supporting teachers in meeting Religious Education accreditation criteria</li></ul><p><strong>About You</strong><br>The Leader of Mission and Formation will exercise leadership that is inspired by the Gospels and located in the mission of the Church through the following selection criteria:</p><ul><li>Ability to contribute and collaborate with the Executive team of the school</li><li>Ability to facilitate and support the professional learning and formation of staff in the area of faith</li><li>Ability to lead, facilitate and provide support to the Youth Mission Team, the Youth Minister and the CSYMI Youth Ministry and Peer Ministry programs</li><li>Ability to plan, lead and coordinate faith, prayer and liturgical programs, events and experiences for students and staff</li><li>Ability to work with, promote and support the Parish and Diocesan ministries and programs, including RISE Youth Ministry in providing opportunities for faith development and enrichment</li><li>Appropriate qualifications in Religious Education or Theology as well as having or working towards Category E of the Accreditation to Work, Lead and Teach in Systemic Catholic Schools Policy (see our <a href="https://www.bth.catholic.edu.au/ContentUploads/files/Accreditation_to_Work_Lead_and_Teach_Policy.pdf">Accreditation Policy</a>)</li><li>Commitment to Catholic education, displaying a clear understanding of the ethos of Catholic schools, the charisms of St John Baptist de La Salle and Venerable Catherine McAuley</li><li>Demonstrates personal witness to the Catholic faith through actively practising the faith</li></ul><p><strong>About Our Offer</strong></p><ul><li>Support your aspirations in your teaching leadership journey with access to leadership development</li><li>Positive, engaging, and supportive culture</li><li>An organisation that is committed to fostering professional growth and provides various opportunities for ongoing training and development</li><li>Benefit from being part of a larger network within the Catholic Education system and create strong, lifelong teacher networks</li><li>Orange has a strong community spirit, with various local events, markets, and fairs that bring residents together and contribute to a sense of belonging</li><li>Orange is renowned for its flourishing food and wine scene, with numerous wineries, vineyards, and gourmet restaurants.
