We are seeking a temporary full-time Mathematics teacher for Term 2, 2025 for LSL cover. This position will include a loading of Mathematics teaching and Mathematics Learning Enhancement. Experience with students in need of extra support or extension in Mathematics would lend itself well to this role.

This long service leave cover position will include a loading of Mathematics teaching and Mathematics Learning Enhancement. Experience with students in need of extra support or extension in Mathematics is welcomed, with the successful candidate enjoying the possibility of a flexible timetable, a stimulating work environment in a team of talented professionals, and attractive remuneration and benefits.</p><p><strong>Curriculum, Teaching and Learning Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Developing and using an innovative curriculum on the school’s CANVAS Learning Management System.</li><li>Teaching numeracy according to the School’s Dalton Principles of R<i>esponsibility, Independence, Collaboration and Reflection.</i></li><li>Creating a stimulating classroom environment where students can flourish.</li><li>Arranging and facilitating workshops for senior HSC students in a flexible weekly timetable.</li><li>Managing and working with students requiring extra support or with gaps in their knowledge.</li><li>Offering activities to talented students including enrichment clubs.</li><li>Marking work for students within one week of submission.</li></ul><p><strong>What do you need to succeed?</strong></p><ul><li>A tertiary major in a Mathematics and / or Statistics discipline.</li><li>Accreditation with NESA and ability to teach HSC levels.</li><li>Ability to differentiate for a diverse group of non-selective students.</li><li>Ability to teach to the strengths of girls.</li><li>Experience in teaching neuro-diverse or mathematically gifted students.</li><li>Experience and willingness to manage students in need of extra support in consultation with the Head of Mathematics and Head of Learning Enhancement.</li><li>Demonstrated excellence in communication and writing skills.</li><li>Well-developed time management and organisational skills.</li><li>Proven ICT skills within an environment where students bring a personal device to school.</li><li>Willingness to continue to develop as a teacher.</li><li>A current First Aid and CPR Certificate.</li><li>A valid Working with Children clearance.</li></ul><p><strong>Interested?</strong> Please apply via Seek with your cover letter and curriculum vitae that includes your:</p><ul><li>WWCC number</li><li>First Aid and CPR details</li><li>NESA number </li><li>Referee contact details (2 people please).</li></ul><p>For further information including a position description for this role please go to<strong> </strong><a href="https://www.ascham.nsw.edu.au/connecting/careers-at-ascham/" rel="nofollow">https://www.ascham.nsw.edu.au/connecting/careers-at-ascham/</a></p><p><strong>Applications close at 11.59pm on 8 April 2025</strong>. </p><p>Please note only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. </p>
