We are looking for a Learning Support Officer (LSO) with experience in support neurodivergent students who can add to the positive culture of our school and support our students. The position is a five days a week 8.30 - 3.30pm or negotiated with the suitable candidate.

Our dedicated Learning Support Officer (LSO) team ensures that all students have the tools they need to access the curriculum and thrive. </p><p>We are looking for someone who shares our positive approach to learning, understanding and willingness to work with neurodivergent students. Flexibility and adaptability are key qualities, as the successful candidate will need to respond to the changing needs of our students and classes with ease.</p><p><strong>The successful applicant will be required to:</strong></p><ul><li>liaise with the classroom teacher, the Learning Diversity Leader and other members of the Learning Diversity team such as our EAL teacher and Speech Pathologist </li><li>attend designated staff meetings, Program Support Group meetings, professional development and other relevant duties requested by the Principal</li><li>work within and contribute to a collaborative education environment</li><li>work 1:1 with &#39;extensive students diagnosed or imputed with ASD/ADHD </li><li>support the learning of students with additional needs in the classroom, attending to adjustments in Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs)</li><li>use spreadsheets to track sessions with students for formal NCCD requirements</li><li>have a knowledge of types of disabilities such as ASD and ADHD, and appropriate strategies to develop personal, social and independent learning skills</li><li>assist with yard duties and various administrative tasks as required</li><li>comply with the school’s Child Safety Policy, Code of Conduct and procedures relating to Child Safety.</li></ul><p><strong>This position is for the 2025 school year and will begin as soon as possible.</strong></p><p><strong>Special Requirements</strong></p><p>Applicants should have obtained or be willing to undertake, Certificate IV (or higher qualification) in Education Support and must hold a current Working With Children&#39;s Check.
