<p> </p><p><strong>Aboriginal Partnerships Liaison Officer</strong><br><strong>1.0 FTE -Limited Tenure</strong><br><strong>March 2025 – March 2026</strong></p><p>Catholic Education Tasmania (CET) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Aboriginal Partnerships Liaison Officer to join our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Team. This important role will work to foster meaningful partnerships between CET and Aboriginal communities, Elders, Knowledge Holders, and industry stakeholders. The Aboriginal Partnerships Liaison officer will focus on embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural knowledge into schools, enhancing student pathways, and promoting cultural safety across our educational settings.</p><p><strong>key responsibilities include:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Strengthening Cultural Engagement</strong>: Acting as the primary liaison, facilitating long-term relationships between schools and Aboriginal communities, ensuring that schools embed culturally responsive practices and engage in meaningful collaborations.</li><li><strong>Supporting Educators</strong>: Assisting Aboriginal Student Success Teachers (ASSTs), Key Teachers, and other school staff in building effective and culturally respectful relationships with Aboriginal communities, Knowledge Holders, and Elders.</li><li><strong>Education & Industry Partnerships</strong>: Developing and sustaining partnerships with education and industry providers to enhance career pathways and professional learning opportunities for Aboriginal students.</li><li><strong>Secretariat & Administrative Support</strong>: Coordinating strategic working groups, including meeting schedules, record-keeping, and tracking action items to ensure alignment with CET’s educational goals.</li><li><strong>Data Collection & Reporting</strong>: Supporting CET in tracking and reporting on the outcomes of partnerships and student transitions, while ensuring compliance with First Nations Data Sovereignty principles.</li></ul><p><strong>Some of the skills and experiences we are looking for are:</strong></p><ul><li>Strong interpersonal skills</li><li>Deep understanding of cultural safety principles and their application in educational settings.</li><li>Proven experience in community engagement, education partnerships, or transition planning.</li><li>Strong organisational, communication, and data management skills.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with educators, school leadership, and external partners.</li></ul><p><strong>You will join an organisation that is driven by:</strong></p><ul><li>Its vision of Student Focused, Christ Centred, Learning for Life.</li><li>A professional service-oriented network of offices, teams and employees,</li><li>Our desire to provide a comprehensive, quality Catholic school curriculum of the highest standard.</li></ul><p>This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the educational experiences and outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students within Catholic Education Tasmania.
