We are currently seeking a full time Education Specialist. Our Education and Engagement Programs deliver high-quality services to provide positive educational experiences for children and young people who have experienced trauma, placement breakdowns and/or challenges to school engagement

<p><strong>About the role:</strong></p><p>An exciting opportunity to join the team at MacKillop is available, we are currently seeking a full time Education Specialist to join our Therapeutic Residential Care team. This role will be based in Forest Hill, supporting our homes in the Eastern and South regions. Flexible working arrangements and access to pool car bookings available.</p><p>Our vision at MacKillop Education is to ensure equity and access to learning for all children and young people who are vulnerable and disengaged from education. As an Education Specialist you will develop strong, supportive professional relationships to engage students and provide a safe and stimulating environment for learning.</p><p>In this role you will support young people living in Therapeutic Residential Care (TRC) settings to engage in education, experience success in learning and enhance the learning outcomes. You will be working with support services to plan and deliver high quality trauma-informed engagement strategies. Apply now to join our team and make a difference!</p><p>The successful candidate will have relevant experience working with disengaged youth (age 12-17), preferably with experience in supporting students living in out-of-home care.</p><p> </p><p>Key Selection Criteria:</p><p>To be successful in this role, you will have:</p><ul><li> Appropriate experience and/or qualifications in education.</li><li>A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.</li><li>Experience working with children and young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively within a team (e.g. colleagues, professionals and other stakeholders).</li></ul><p> </p><p><i>Please address the full Key Selection Criteria outlined in the PD as part of your application.</i></p><p> </p><p>For a full position listing, please click APPLY.
