<p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p><p>We are seeking a dedicated and team orientated Canteen Assistant, with an interest in food preparation to join our College community. This permanent part time (50 hours per fortnight) role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive, dynamic and Catholic school environment. In this fast-paced role you will be a part of the Canteen &amp; Catering team providing quality, nutritious food to St Patrick’s College students and the school community. You will be responsible for the preparation of cold larder items, such as sandwiches/wraps, sweet and pastry items and general cooking duties in order to support the daily operation of the Canteen, which includes the provision of assistance in catering for school events and functions. The Canteen Assistant is expected to maintain high standards of cleanliness, food handling and hygiene practices within the kitchen at all times, in addition to ensuring a proactive safety-first approach. </p><p>Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2018.</p><p><strong>About You</strong></p><p>As an organised, enthusiastic and excellent team player you will have:</p><ul><li>Exceptional customer services.</li><li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to contribute as an effective, productive team member. </li><li>Experience in food preparation in a commercial kitchen/similar role.</li><li>Practical understanding of health, safety and hygiene in a kitchen environment, including safe food handling, storage and manual handling techniques.</li><li>Ability to effectively manage demands in a busy and fast paced environment. </li><li>An understanding of and ability to contribute to the mission of St Patrick’s College as a Catholic school.</li></ul><p>CET supports the rights of children and young people and is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment directed at ensuring their safety and wellbeing.  The successful candidate will require satisfactory registrations relevant to child safety.   </p><p><strong>About Us</strong></p><p>St Patrick’s is a Catholic co-educational Year 7-12 college of approximately 1,500 students with a strong academic culture that encourages individual students to develop to their full potential through a broad educational experience.  The College is structured into a three school model of learning, incorporating the Middle School (Years 7 and 8), Croagh Patrick (Year 9) and Senior School (Years 10-12).
