<p>Are you a hands-on, proactive individual with a passion for maintaining beautiful and functional school grounds? Kolbe Catholic College is seeking <strong>two dedicated Grounds & Maintenance Officers</strong> to ensure our facilities and outdoor spaces remain safe, clean, and well-maintained for our students and staff.</p><p><strong>About us:</strong></p><p>Kolbe Catholic College is a co-educational Year 7 to 12 school serving the people of the northern suburbs of Melbourne. The College motto, Faith, Courage, Compassion, encompasses the legacy of St Maximilian Kolbe and a vision to provide students with every opportunity to make the most of what life has to offer, to strive to be their very best and be inspired to serve others.<br><br><strong>About the role</strong><br><br>The Grounds and Maintenance Officer is responsible to the Property Manager for the development, presentation and upkeep of the College’s property and physical assets. Property includes buildings and structures, furniture and fittings, utility services and infrastructure, grounds and gardens and ensuring that the College is kept in a well presented and safe manner. The role also provides assistance with moving furniture and equipment within the school. The position requires commitment to the values and ethos of Catholic education.</p><p>We have two positions available:<br>1 x Full-Time Ongoing <br>1 x Full-Time Fixed Term </p><p><strong>Skills and experience</strong></p><p>To be successful in this position you should demonstrate the following:</p><ul><li>Knowledge and understanding of the operation of a secondary school, and an appreciation of the reliance that is necessary on the Maintenance Department. </li><li>Sound working knowledge of legislative requirements of OH&S and building regulations. </li><li>Wide ranging skills/experience in a number of trade areas e.g. carpentry, plumbing, landscaping, horticulture, electrical / audio visual. </li><li>Driver’s Licence and experience using mechanical machinery (ie lawn mower and grounds equipment). </li><li>Appropriate communication skills and ability to work effectively with a range of people. </li><li>Excellent organisational and planning skills.</li><li>Ability to manage, maintain and monitor a variety of records and logs, and act on exceptions in an appropriate and timely manner. </li><li>Acts in a professional and courteous manner at all times.</li><li>Ability to analyse problems and determine an appropriate course of action.</li><li>Possess a high level of written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Presents appropriately, following dress code, as required.</li><li>Proves capability in team membership, mutual support, common goal development and achievement. </li><li>Proven capacity to work independently and effectively in the face of changing priorities, deadlines and pressure.</li></ul><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Qualifications and Certifications:</strong></p><ul><li>National Criminal Records Check</li><li>Working with Children Check Card </li></ul><p> </p><p>You will need a cover letter and resume to upload with your application.</p><p>Applications close Tuesday 4 March 2025 4pm.</p><p>For more information about Kolbe Catholic College, please go to our website www.kolbecc.catholic.edu.au</p><p>Kolbe Catholic College is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care, including maintaining compliance with the Child Safety Code of Conduct</p>
