Since opening in 1961, Westminster’s vibrant sense of community has shaped our welcoming, down-to-earth character, enriched by School values of being brave, humble, kind, authentic, resilient and curious.<br /><br /><strong>About the Careers Pathways Advisor</strong></p><p>The Career Pathways Advisor develops and delivers the School’s approach to Careers Education, including Work Experience, and delivers careers and general counselling services to students.  The incumbent liaises with House Heads and Curriculum Leaders so that students are well prepared to succeed in post-secondary studies and careers, and student wellbeing is enhanced.<br /><br /><i><strong>Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):</strong></i></p><ul><li>Coordination of the Year 11 work experience program.</li><li>Conduct regular 1 to 1 interviews with students in years 10 to 12.</li><li>Ensure that appropriate documentation, records, processes, registrations, quality assurance in relation to VET programs and participation are met and maintained, including VISA agreements for all embedded VET courses</li><li>Promote and support the use of careers information and career preparation services by a broad range of students</li><li>Provide counselling for Senior School students to support their identification of future pathways</li><li>Assist students with work-related applications, resume construction and interview preparation</li><li>Assist with the tertiary application process of Year 12 students, ensuring compliance with all requirements and procedures of relevant Australian and overseas Tertiary Admissions Centres and similar, liaising with the Head of Senior Students.</li><li>Assist students with tertiary admissions and scholarship applications</li><li>Provide individual and group counselling for Senior School students to support their effective participation in education and broader wellbeing.</li></ul><p><i><strong>Key Selection Criteria: Qualifications, Skills and Experience</strong></i></p><ul><li>Current Teacher Registration</li><li>Relevant tertiary qualification including Career Counselling qualification (minimum of Cert IV in Career Development)</li><li>Demonstrated effectiveness as a careers or work education teacher</li><li>Broad knowledge of post-School pathways for students</li><li>Previous experience of at least one of: designing and conducting careers education programs, designing and conducting work experience programs and coordinating Tertiary Admission processes within a school</li><li>Previous experience of designing and conducting careers education programs, designing and conducting work experience programs and coordinating Tertiary Admission processes within a school is highly desirable</li><li>Active membership of CAA/CDAA is highly desirable.</li></ul><p><i><strong>Key Selection Criteria: Personal Qualities</strong>  </i></p><ul><li>Respects and affirms the common humanity and individual uniqueness of people</li><li>Sensitive to the cultural and religious background and worldview of individual students</li><li>Non-judgemental</li><li>Awareness of own impact on others</li><li>Models commitment to own growth and learning</li><li>Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills</li></ul><p>A position description is available on our website under Careers. www.westminster.school<br /><br />For further information about this role please contact the humanresources&#64;westminster.sa.edu.au<br /><br />To apply, please submit your resume and a cover letter to Ms Andrea Sherwood, Director of Learning.     </p><p>Applications close 9am Monday 3rd March 2025 and will only be accepted when submitted through Seek.</p><p><i><strong>Westminster, where you can achieve more than you thought possible.</strong></i></p>
