<p><i>St Dominic’s College, Kingswood is a Catholic school in the Blessed Edmund Rice tradition conducted by Edmund Rice Education Australia. Founded by the Christian Brothers in 1959, the College has a current enrolment of 1000 boys. The mission of St Dominic's College is to create a caring environment where excellence in Education is evident within the Catholic tradition and the Spirit of Edmund Rice.</i></p><p> </p><p>The College is seeking a highly motivated and suitably qualified Teacher's Aide to commence as soon as possible and continue through to the end of the 2025 College year. </p><p>This is a <strong>temporary part-time position (3 days per week)</strong> with specific working days to be negotiated with the College Principal.</p><p> </p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>The successful applicant will join our Diverse Learning Team and will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, working collaboratively with teachers to enhance student outcomes. </p><p> </p><p><strong>Key responsibilities </strong></p><ul><li>Provide in-class and small-group support for students with diverse learning needs, including literacy and numeracy interventions.</li><li>Assist in the development and implementation of personalised learning plans.</li><li>Work closely with teachers and the Diverse Learning Coordinator to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.</li><li>Support students in building confidence and independent learning skills.</li><li>Assist with collecting and documenting evidence for Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) requirements.</li><li>Utilise strong ICT skills to support student learning in a contemporary educational setting.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Essential Criteria:</strong></p><ul><li>Hold a Certificate in Education Support (Teacher's Aide) OR be a university student currently studying a teaching degree.</li><li>Have a strong commitment to Catholic values and the mission of St Dominic’s College.</li><li>Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive student relationships.</li><li>Show a commitment to improving student outcomes and well-being.</li><li>Have an understanding of the pastoral needs of young men in an educational setting.</li><li>Exhibit a strong work ethic and commitment to ongoing professional development.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Highly Desirable Criteria:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience working in a school environment, preferably in a Diverse Learning or Special Education setting.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teachers in the development of personalised learning strategies.</li><li>Experience in data collection and reporting for learning support programs.</li><li>Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational skills.</li></ul><p> </p><p> <strong>Staff Benefits</strong>: </p><ul><li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – Counselling Service. </li><li>Annual influenza vaccinations provided by the College. </li><li>Catered weekly morning teas. </li><li>Catered staff development and networking days. </li><li>Free street parking. </li><li>Free use of College gym. </li><li>College provided laptops.</li></ul><p> </p><p>Support Staff at St Dominic’s College are employed under the <strong>NSW Catholic Independent Schools (Support Staff – Model B) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2023</strong> </p><p> </p><p><strong>How to Apply:</strong></p><p>Applicants are encouraged to visit the College website www.stdominics.nsw.edu.au for further information about the College.
