<p><strong>Education Officer: Parent Engagement</strong><br><strong>Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst</strong><br><strong>Permanent Part-Time position (0.2 FTE)</strong><br><strong>Commencing: 28 March 2025 or by negotiation</strong></p><p><br><strong>About the Role</strong><br>Situated within the School Improvement Team, the Education Officer: Parent Engagement exists to support schools in strengthening their engagement with parents and carers. This role fosters meaningful partnerships between families, school communities, and Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst (CEDB), ensuring alignment with the CEDB Mission, Vision, and Strategic Intent. The Education Officer also leads the Catholic School Parents CEDB Forum and represents CEDB at the Council of Catholic School Parents NSW.</p><p>As the new Education Officer: Parent Engagement, you will:</p><ul><li>Actively promote the Vision and Mission of Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst by fostering strong school-parent partnerships</li><li>Provide a vital link between CEDB, families, and school-based parent organisations to enhance parent engagement in Catholic schools</li><li>Develop and lead the Catholic School Parents CEDB Forum, facilitating networking, support opportunities, and parent education initiatives</li><li>Represent CEDB at the NSW Catholic parent body, the Council of Catholic School Parents (CCSP), including attending meetings and providing written reports</li><li>Design and coordinate professional learning and engagement events for school staff, parents, and carers to support student faith, learning, and wellbeing</li><li>Develop and distribute a termly CEDB Parent Engagement newsletter to strengthen communication with the parent community</li><li>Collaborate with relevant CEDB staff, principals, teachers, support staff, and external stakeholders to implement parent engagement initiatives</li><li>Work closely with the CEDB Communications team to share parent engagement information through internal channels and social media platforms</li><li>Undertake travel within the Diocese as required to support schools and parent engagement initiatives</li></ul><p><strong>About you (Selection Criteria)</strong><br>We are looking for someone who meets the following selection criteria:</p><ul><li>A commitment to supporting the values and ethos of the Catholic tradition in the workplace</li><li>Hold qualifications in Education, Social Work, Communications, or an associated discipline, with demonstrated success in engaging parents and families in Catholic school communities</li><li>Experience in parent education, engagement, and networking, with a strong understanding of contemporary issues in Catholic education and family-school partnerships</li><li>Capacity to draw on current research and evidence-based best practices to develop and implement parent engagement initiatives that align with school improvement goals</li><li>Well-developed written, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Principals, teachers, students, parents, parishes, and external agencies</li><li>Demonstrated ability to lead a team, organise events, and deliver programs that align with the CEDB Mission, Vision, and Strategic Intent</li><li>Professional experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based productivity applications (Google Apps)</li><li>The ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating initiative and strong organisational skills</li><li>A current Driver’s Licence with the ability to travel across the Diocese, including the potential for overnight stays when required</li></ul><p><strong>What we offer</strong></p><ul><li>Professional development opportunities.</li><li>Access to salary packaging to maximise your take-home pay.</li><li>A supportive and collaborative team environment.</li><li>The ability to make a significant impact across the Diocese.</li><li>Access to additional leave (conditions apply) as well as leave loading</li><li>Access to Fitness Passport, providing affordable access to gyms and recreational facilities for you and your family.</li></ul><p><strong>Next Steps</strong><br>A copy of the position description can be found by following the <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WGcUW7q7QyOTxPRb61A0c4OAng7KCHHZ/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=103344257239351755744&rtpof=true&sd=true">link</a></p><p>For further enquiries please contact the Head of School Improvement, Data, Policy and Governance: Damien Carlton on 02 6338 3000</p><p>Click “Apply” to be taken to our online application portal where you will be asked to complete our online application form.
