<p>Located in Melbourne’s bayside suburb of Mentone, Kilbreda College is a leading Catholic secondary school for girls, proudly founded by the Brigidine Sisters and governed by Kildare Education Ministries. With a strong commitment to academic excellence, social justice, and student wellbeing, the College provides an innovative and inclusive learning environment where students are challenged and supported to thrive.</p><p>The Assistant Principal: Learning and Teaching is a key member of the College Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Principal. This role is responsible for shaping and driving an engaging, future-focused, and inclusive curriculum that inspires curiosity, critical thinking, and independent learning. The role provides strategic leadership in curriculum innovation, pedagogy, and professional learning, ensuring that students and staff are actively engaged in a high-performing and supportive educational community.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Key Selection Criteria</strong></p><ul><li>Commitment to actively foster and support the Catholic ethos and traditions of Kildare Ministries and the Brigidine Sisters, embedding faith-based values in learning and teaching.</li><li>Expertise in leading and implementing innovative, future-focused, and inclusive curriculum initiatives that enhance student engagement, critical thinking, and academic excellence.</li><li>Proven ability to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and change through data-informed decision-making, research-based practices, and strategic leadership.</li><li>Demonstrated capacity to develop self and others through mentoring, coaching, and professional learning that builds a culture of collaboration and high performance.</li><li>Experience in leading the management of school operations, including curriculum development, compliance, staffing, and resource allocation to support student learning.</li><li>Strong ability to build and sustain authentic relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider community, fostering engagement, communication, and shared responsibility for student success.</li></ul><p> </p><p>Offered as a three-year contract, applicants must have the right to work in Australia and be registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).</p><p>Kilbreda College staff comply with the school’s child safety policies and related procedures, upholding the principles and values set out in legislative frameworks and regulations.
