This role promotes & role models the highest standards of teaching and learning across curriculum development and administration, leadership, and fostering a culture of excellence across the science disciplines. </p><p>The Head of Science will lead and develop a high-performing Science Learning Area, ensuring innovative and evidence-based teaching practices. They will oversee curriculum planning and assessment in alignment with relevant standards, and drive student engagement in Science by fostering a passion for inquiry and STEAM-related pathways. Additionally, the Head of Science will manage resources and collaborate with faculty leaders to enhance interdisciplinary learning and strategic school initiatives. </p><p>The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to:</p><ul><li>Lead and inspire a team of educators, fostering a culture of professional growth and collaboration.</li><li>Implement a forward-thinking vision for Science curriculum development, alongside best-practice pedagogical and assessment strategies in Science education.</li><li>Build strong relationships with students, staff, and the broader school community.</li><li>Champion the integration of innovative learning technologies and real-world scientific applications.</li><li>Articulate, role model and cultivate a culture that supports student wellbeing, growth and success.</li></ul><p>Offered as a five-year contract with a well-balanced allotment and ongoing teaching tenure, applicants must currently have a Right to Work in Australia, be registered (or able to be registered) to teach and hold (or able to hold) a WWVP registration in Tasmania.</p><p> Launceston Church Grammar School staff are committed to the safety and wellbeing of all students, upholding the principles of child protection and safeguarding.
