Our curriculum is designed to inspire academic achievement, personal growth, and lifelong learning.</p> <p><strong>Job Description:</strong></p> <p>The college is currently looking for an experienced and highly motivated Teacher Librarian / Head School Librarian<strong>&nbsp;</strong>to join our team.</p> <p>The successful candidate&nbsp;will commence in 2025 and will be expected to participate in the life of the school through its extensive co-curricular and programs; and demonstrate a commitment to the service of others.</p> <p>Your working hours will be 8:20am to 5:00pm - Monday to Friday.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p>The role involves assisting students and staff in the coordination and organisation of the College library. You will lead the library team, including implementing College-wide goals and working alongside the Directors of Teaching &amp; Learning.</p> <p>Skills required include:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to manage the daily work in an intelligent manner, allowing for unscheduled interruptions</li> <li>Management of our Library Information System</li> <li>Coordinating class set texts collections</li> <li>Resource management &amp; promotion&nbsp;</li> <li>General library maintenance</li> <li>Experience in the: <ul> <li>delivery of information and circulation services</li> <li>Processing of library materials</li> <li>Handling student and staff accounts and library inquiries</li> <li>Promoting library programs, events and activities;</li> </ul></li> <li>Experience in the delivery of quality customer service</li> <li>A passion for student learning</li> <li>Excellent organisational and behavioural management skills</li> <li>Excellent communication skills and confidence when dealing with difficult situations</li> <li>Have the content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet the diverse needs of all students</li> <li>Demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Relevant tertiary qualifications in&nbsp;Library &amp; Information Systems&nbsp;</li> <li>Detailed knowledge of copyright legislation and its application in schools</li> <li>Experience in an educational environment</li> <li>1 to 2 year experience in a similar role</li> <li>Experience with Windows software, especially Outlook, Word and Excel</li> <li>VIT registration is essential</li> <li>Previous teaching experience in classes</li> </ul>
