Our curriculum is designed to inspire academic achievement, personal growth, and lifelong learning.</p><p><strong>Job Description:</strong></p><p>The college is currently looking for an experienced and highly motivated Teacher Librarian / Head School Librarian<strong> </strong>to join our team.</p><p>The successful candidate will commence in 2025 and will be expected to participate in the life of the school through its extensive co-curricular and programs; and demonstrate a commitment to the service of others.</p><p>Your working hours will be 8:20am to 5:00pm - Monday to Friday.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p>The role involves assisting students and staff in the coordination and organisation of the College library. You will lead the library team, including implementing College-wide goals and working alongside the Directors of Teaching &amp; Learning.</p><p>Skills required include:</p><ul><li>Ability to manage the daily work in an intelligent manner, allowing for unscheduled interruptions</li><li>Management of our Library Information System</li><li>Coordinating class set texts collections</li><li>Resource management &amp; promotion </li><li>General library maintenance</li><li>Experience in the:<ul><li>delivery of information and circulation services</li><li>Processing of library materials</li><li>Handling student and staff accounts and library inquiries</li><li>Promoting library programs, events and activities;</li></ul></li><li>Experience in the delivery of quality customer service</li><li>A passion for student learning</li><li>Excellent organisational and behavioural management skills</li><li>Excellent communication skills and confidence when dealing with difficult situations</li><li>Have the content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet the diverse needs of all students</li><li>Demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Relevant tertiary qualifications in Library &amp; Information Systems </li><li>Detailed knowledge of copyright legislation and its application in schools</li><li>Experience in an educational environment</li><li>1 to 2 year experience in a similar role</li><li>Experience with Windows software, especially Outlook, Word and Excel</li><li>VIT registration is essential</li><li>Previous teaching experience in classes</li></ul>
