Cedar College is seeking a qualified School Nurse whose responsibilities include delivering direct nursing care and managing individual health cases for students and staff.

<p><strong>POSITION OVERVIEW</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Date Created:</strong> 11/11/2024</li><li><strong>Position Title: </strong>School Nurse</li><li><strong>School Area: </strong>Reception to Year 12, including staff and visitors</li><li><strong>Commencing: </strong>This is a Fixed Term Contract 20/01/2025 to 26/09/2025</li><li><strong>FTE:</strong> <strong>0.329 </strong>15 hours a week (2x Days Mon &amp; Tues)</li><li><strong>Salary: </strong>Commensurate with qualifications and experience</li></ul><p><strong><u>ABOUT THE ROLE</u></strong></p><p>We are seeking a qualified School Nurse whose responsibilities will include: delivering direct nursing care and managing individual health cases for students and staff, including the administration of prescribed medications; providing first aid and emergency care; maintaining accurate health records; communicating effectively with parents, caregivers, and staff; and offering tailored health support for students with additional needs.</p><p><strong><u>ABOUT CEDAR CARE</u></strong></p><p>At <strong>Cedar College</strong>, we take a <strong>holistic approach </strong>to the care of our students. Responsibilities include delivering direct nursing care, managing individual health cases, administering medications, providing first aid and emergency care, maintaining health records, and effectively communicating with parents, caregivers, and staff. </p><p><strong><u>KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS</u></strong></p><ul><li>Competency in First Aid and responding to emergencies.</li><li>Knowledge of the role of Registered General Nurses or Enrolled Nurses in an educational setting would be advantageous. </li><li>Understanding of adolescent and adult health issues.</li><li>Familiarity with the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act 2009 and the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (SA) Act 2010.</li><li>Awareness of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC) National Competencies for Registered and Enrolled Nurses and Midwives</li><li>Understanding of the Professional Conduct for Nurses NMBA 2018 and the Commissioner for Public Employment Code of Conduct for Public Employees</li><li>Knowledge of legislative responsibilities, Quality Improvement Systems, and the Approved Code of Practice for First Aid in the Workplace as it applies to an educational setting.</li><li>Proficiency in computing skills and the MS Office suite</li></ul><p><strong><u>PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS</u></strong></p><ul><li>To build rapport and connect with students of all ages.</li><li>You will need to demonstrate a sincere commitment to Jesus Christ, the philosophy of Christian Education, and be actively</li><li>Involved in your local church.</li><li>Effective communication skills including, problem-solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills</li><li>Ability to work effectively as an individual and within a team</li><li>Ability to prioritise workload</li><li>Ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within an educational school setting</li><li>Some out-of-hours work may be required e.g., attendance at after-school events or school camps</li></ul><p><strong><u>ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong></p><ul><li>Registered as a Registered or Enrolled Nurse by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation and hold a current practising certificate.</li><li>Current RHHAN-EC Certificate (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care).</li><li>Current WWCC (Working with Children Check)</li><li>Protective Practices online course completion (can be completed prior to commencement of employment).</li><li>Current Provide First Aid Certificate</li></ul><p><strong>Applications Close: </strong>4 pm, Monday November 25, 2024.</p><p><a href="https://www.cedarcollege.sa.edu.au/downloads/PID/PID-School-Nurse-2025.pdf" rel="nofollow">Position Information </a></p><p><a href="https://www.cedarcollege.sa.edu.au" rel="nofollow"><strong>Find out more about Cedar College here.</strong></a></p>
