<p><strong>The Role </strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We are seeking a Audio Visual Technician to manage the technical operations, production processes, and logistics for sound, lighting, and visuals at College events. This role is essential in ensuring that every production—from initial planning through to execution and post-event debrief—is delivered to a high standard and stays within budget. The ideal candidate will work closely with staff, students, and external vendors to create impactful, educational media projects and events, while supporting the College’s audio-visual productions and event spaces. </p><p>The position reports to the Director of The Arts and works alongside the Production Team of various events which can be comprised of:</p><ul><li>Head of Performance Music, Performance Manager, Head of Faculty – The Arts, Curriculum Leaders, Ensemble Leaders and other Event Leaders.</li><li>Sheldon Events Manager, Grounds and Maintenance, Cleaning Staff and the Caretaker.</li><li>Contractors, Suppliers, Technical Managers and Production Coordinators. </li></ul><p>Please note this role is Term Time role and with additional events </p><p><strong>Benefits </strong> </p><p>At <strong>Sheldon College</strong> we are striving to be an Employer of Choice. Bread, Raisin Toast, Condiments, Tea/Coffee, Milk.</li><li>Health initiatives including onsite pop-up clinics.</li><li>Health Insurance and Specsavers Discounts.</li><li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Staff Wellness Committee;</li><li>Support for career progression and a strong focus on professional development supported release time. </li><li>Facilities and Resources that enable you to be the best, innovative professional in your field.</li></ul><p><strong>About you</strong></p><ul><li>Expertise with AV equipment (cameras, microphones, projectors, screens, etc) for filming, live streaming and projection.</li><li>Proficient in video recording, editing and production software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).</li><li>Experience with live streaming platforms (e.g., YouTube, Zoom, Teams, Vimeo) and projection systems like Q-Lab.</li><li>Expertise in audio engineering, including sound setup and management for live events and recordings.</li><li>Technical proficiency in audio-visual recording and post-production.</li><li>Strong event coordination skills, from planning AV setups to execution, including troubleshooting during live events.</li><li>Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and manage AV timelines effectively</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students and staff, providing clear communication about AV needs and technical concepts.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills to handle the pressure of live events calmly and efficiently.</li><li>Visual design expertise, ensuring engaging visuals.</li><li>Ability to ensure that projections and video outputs align with the tone and purpose of events in line with the College’s high standards</li><li>Willingness to learn new AV tools, software and techniques as the technology evolves.</li><li>Flexible problem-solving skills to adapt to last-minute changes and technical challenge</li></ul><p><strong>About Us </strong> </p><p><strong>Sheldon College </strong>is an independent, co-educational, non-denominational College situated in Redland City, catering for students from 15 months of age through to Year 12.
