This role primarily involves teaching Science to students in Years 7-10, with a preference for candidates who can also teach Stage 6 Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics). The successful candidate will be a learner-focused educator with a strong command of their subject and a commitment to creating engaging, innovative lesson plans.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and implement yearly plans in line with College and NSW guidelines.</li><li>Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning abilities.</li><li>Maintain a well-organised and positive classroom environment conducive to learning.</li><li>Uphold discipline and enforce school behavioral policies.</li><li>Assess and mark students’ work, keeping records of their progress.</li><li>Provide constructive feedback to parents during parent-teacher meetings.</li><li>Participate in and contribute to school events such as plays, sporting activities, and day trips.</li><li>Ensure the safeguarding of students and maintain high standards of teaching and learning that support student well-being.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Criteria:</strong></p><ul><li>A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.</li><li>Qualified Teacher Status (NESA accreditation).</li><li>A current Working with Children Check.</li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of the NSW Science Curriculum.</li><li>Strong communication skills to effectively engage with colleagues, students, and parents.</li><li>Flexibility, patience, and a commitment to continuous professional development.</li><li>Active participation in the College’s co-curricular program.</li><li>A practicing Christian who aligns with the Mission and Values of St Marks College.</li></ul><p><strong>Employee Benefits:</strong></p><ul><li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for well-being support.</li><li>Work/Life balance initiatives.</li><li>Access to a staff fitness program.</li><li>Additional employee benefits.</li></ul><p>Join us at St Marks College, where your passion for teaching and dedication to student success will be valued and supported.
